Just For Fun

This is something I did just for fun because I'm crazy like that late at night. I never knew tablets sucked so much with line width variation in Photoshop... I was too concentrating on her expression that I forgot to tilt her head! Oh well.

Expression

We were only supposed to draw 3 pictures this time and not make a MOV file right? Here are mines. Sorry about the bad quality, I took the pictures with a camera this time since I start work late tomorrow and figured it'd be too late to put up the pictures tomorrow.

Walk Animation 2

Here's my new walk animation with the in-betweens as well as the second stride, looped several times. It actually came out okay. I had a total of 27 frames including the key frames but it was after I imported into Vegas Video that I found out that the last 6 frames were repeated and did not loop well so I removed it. That's why the last frame in the video is an awkward pose like that.

By the way, sorry about the shimmering lines on the first few frames, my Xerox scanner at work scans on default at B&W and not grayscale. :[

Walk Animation

I thought we were supposed to only draw the key frames as on the handouts and then add the in-betweens after we get reviewed? Anyway, here is my walk. Originally, I thought it looked like the person was walking backwards. But then I realized that I really did scanned it in backwards. Now it is fixed and looks better. Kind of.

Hair Animation

I tried to avoid turning my head again and again for this but I think it turned out well. I meant to make her blink in the middle but it went too fast and is almost unnoticeable. I think I need to add in-betweens for the blinking.

Ball with Tail

When I added the tail to the ball, I thought the ball would look alive (because it has a tail). But I forgot my arcs are lower because the ball loses energy after a while. So this ball with a tail ends up looking strange... The "creature" loses energy halfway...

Edit:
Please ignore what I wrote above late last night. I no longer understand it. Haha! It was after I had much frustration with Maya.

Follow Through Animation

Here is my tail animation. I really didn't expect this to be so frustrating. In the end, I think the tail still doesn't look right. I just noticed that even though I traced really carefully, the cat does move! This makes me wonder how people animate those complex animation (especially anime) having to draw and paint every single frame. I also wonder how much time the animators have saved after switching to doing all 2D animation digitally. I mean, would they still have to draw every single frame?
